The mission of the Pomona Public Library Foundation is to promote private donation to enhance and enrich the Pomona Public Library’s resources and services. The Foundation believes a strong public library is the base upon which the community builds its future.

The Pomona Public Library Foundation was energized in August 2012 by concerned citizens in response to the severe financial challenges the Pomona Public Library and the City of Pomona are facing. As a result of the state of the economy in California, the funding available through the City of Pomona has been seriously eroded, in turn the ability of the Pomona Public Library to provide services to the community. Significant cuts to programs, resources and hours of operation have been made over the last three years that have limited community access to the Library.

The Pomona Public Library Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to promoting the programs, resources and services of the Pomona Public Library by providing financial support to supplement the Library’s public funding.
